Speaking about the festival, Manjrekar said, “Everyone normally asks for my opnion about the state of cricket, but I am glad that there is someone who is interested in my opinion about films as well.” When asked whether films like these would improve the sporting culture in the country, he said, “Let us not kid ourselves that a few films or festivals would change anything. But definitely films like `Iqbal’ or `Lagaan’ have made a difference.” Started in 1982, the Sport Movies and TV” festival is one of the most popular festivals in Milan, Italy.
